Affordable eco homes are to be made available at a Northamptonshire housing development event.
The event, organised by Keyhome East, will bring together housing and other industry associations and aims to attract first-time buyers.
Properties from the Peaselands environmentally-friendly green homes development will be available on the day.
These houses feature double glazing windows, a rainwater harvesting system to be recycled in the grey water system of the building and either air source heat pumps or solar panels.
Sales and marketing manager of one of the associations taking part, Karen Coleman of Orbit First Step, said she looked forward to seeing many first-time buyers attend.
"This will be an exciting event that will bring hope to the many people who are struggling to get onto the property ladder, and with all housing associations in attendance they will have the opportunity to consider a wide range of properties on offer in the region and seek advice on the purchasing options available to them."
Meanwhile, a Buckinghamshire town was praised last week for having some of the best green homes in the country according to a new survey.
Tony Martin, chairman of locallife.co.uk, the organisation which conducted the survey, said that High Wycombe had "an impressive environmental record".
- Double glazing is proven to save heat and energy lost through poorly-insulated windows and doors. With Energy Efficiency windows and doors as standard, homeowners can now save even more on their heating bills and reduce their carbon footprint.
