Airport walkway hits stumbling block over noise pollution claims

An international airport's eco walkway has been delayed due to concerns over noise pollution, it has been reported.

Bristol International Airport's plans - to build a walkway for ferry passengers from terminals to planes instead of using buses - will now be subject to a full planning application, according to the BBC news.

In a ruling that could be seen as a victory for local campaigners opposing the development, North Somerset council came to the decision that means certain conditions may be imposed.

The Stop Bristol Airport Expansion group claims the scheme was part of a 'sneaky' expansion which could result in additional noise pollution and extra traffic on local roads.

Comprising a number of charities and local bodies, the coalition met a group of the region's MPs earlier in the year at the House of Commons.
