The desire to increase security in the home is at the forefront of many Britons' minds, according to a new survey. Good Housekeeping's poll of homeowners found that 74 per cent of people feel that the UK is a more dangerous place than it was five years ago. Accordingly, 39 per cent of people have taken steps to increase security at their abode. One in five respondents said that they now keep their windows closed at all times, regardless of the weather. And almost half of people said that either they or someone they know has been the victim of a burglary in the last twelve months. Last week, police in South Ribble urged residents in the locality to keep windows locked after a spate of burglaries occurred in the space of a day. Installing double glazing or lockable uPVC frames and doors can help make a property more secure against burglary. Click here for a selection of double glazed windows and doors from Safestyle.©
