A TV presenter has dedicated his spare time to making home improvements at his Brighton residence to make it eco-friendly, it has been reported.
Oliver Heath, the former presenter of BBC show Changing Rooms, has spent the last four years turning his home into an environmentally friendly one, according to the Times who describes him as an "eco-evangelist".
Speaking to the Sunday Times, the interior designer, 36, said that though he did not want to "compromise on design", he would always look at the most "environmental way to achieve it".
The presenter, who shares the property with his jewellery-designer girlfriend Katie and their 18-month-old daughter, Lyla, is looking forward to a "new challenge" as he has just made an offer on a green home in London's Covent Garden.
He told the publication that he is already planning ethical home improvements on the property and he intends to get solar panels installed on the roof.
Meanwhile, the Green Building Council told the Guardian earlier this year that TV shows about home improvements play an important role in boosting awareness about the benefits of eco homes.
