A climate change chief has challenged those who question the impact of emissions on the environment to defend their claims.
Alan Thorpe, chief executive of the Natural Environment Research Council, has said that he will meet "deniers" online and at a public debate in order to rebuff their suggestion that car and factory emissions are not heating the planet.
"We need, very urgently, to discuss what to do now to mitigate the effects of climate change," said Mr Thorpe.
"Yet a handful of scientists, politicians and writers are still claiming humans are not responsible at all.
"We have got to kill off this notion so we can get on with the real work: protecting ourselves from future climate change. That is why I am challenging these deniers."
One way to reduce your energy emissions and improve your green credentials is to better insulate your home.
