A concrete plant is being opposed by local residents over fears of noise pollution it will create, it has been reported.
Gwersylt community council objected to the proposals on the grounds the site is totally unsuitable for a plant due to its proximity to a residential area given the amount of anticipated noise pollution, according to the Wrexham Leader.
Mum of two Nicola Burgess, of Gwersylt, Wrexham told the publication she was shocked and angered that planning permission has been granted for the plant.
She intends to contest the decision and has collected signatures on a petition protesting about the plant.
"The site is close to a number of housing estates, the school and field where children play hockey and rugby. As well as the dust in the air, there will also be lorries driving to and from the plant all the time," she concluded.
Councillor Michael Williams, of Gwersylt North, also objected saying the noise pollution and dust levels would be difficult to control.
It was reported by the Newmarket Journal last month that residents are opposing plans by Stansted and Luton airports to stack aircraft over the village of Ousden due to noise pollution fears.
