The installation of double glazing is one of a range of home improvements that can protect a household against burglary, according to one insurer.
Endsleigh carried out a survey of burglary claims over the past four years which revealed houses in Nottingham to be the most at risk from break-ins.
At the other end of the scale, Guildford was found to have the fewest amount of burglary-related insurance claims in the UK.
Expanding on the findings, Endsleigh's Stuart Wartalski said: "There is a range of steps that householders can take to protect their homes, such as installing burglar alarms, window locks, double-glazing and motion-sensitive lighting."
Earlier this month, energy-assessors.com suggested that replacing single-glazed windows with double glazing can reduce heat loss from a home by 50 per cent.
To make your property safer and warmer, investing in double glazed windows and doors is a great way to get results.
