Kitchens and double glazing are top of the pile in the current home improvements market, according to one renovation specialist.
Representatives for home improvements experts HomePro Money acknowledged that the credit crunch and faltering property market have been putting many people off renovations.
However, Mark Brayford - operations director of the firm - claimed that environmental awareness and a desire to boost houses' value has ensured that double glazing does not lose its prominence.
"The major market is still kitchens and double glazing," he confirmed.
"We are actually trying to convince lenders to look at greener products like residential wind farms and solar panelling," he added.
Mr Brayford's observations are substantiated by recent figures released by the Co-operative Bank, which indicated that Britons are planning to spend £13 billion on green home improvements in the near future.
Furthermore, the green gurus behind an environmentally-friendly makeover at a Lancaster youth club recently advocated double glazing, as well as cavity wall insulation, as "great investments" for any building-owner wanting to save both money and the environment.
