A Southampton resident has paid tribute to his double glazing windows for possibly saving his life after his house was shot at, it has been reported.
Michael O'Leary, 55, was at his home in Radcliffe Road, Northam, when a pellet was shot at his window, piercing the first layer of glass but stopping at the second, according to the Southern Daily Echo.
He believes the incident, which occurred on Monday May 19th, could have been much more serious if it had not been for the home improvements he made when installing double glazing at the property.
Speaking to the publication, Mr O'Leary said he was sitting at his computer when he heard an "almighty bang" and there was a bullet hole in the first layer of the double glazing.
"If I didn't have double glazing the pellet could have shot through the glass and injured me, or next time it could be someone else."
Meanwhile, it was reported by the Independent this week that those struggling with the rising costs of living can cut their power bills through the installation of double glazing windows.
