Plans to build eco homes are being discussed for a Cambridgeshire green area.
Town Hall bosses from Huntingdonshire district council are discussing the scheme planned for a 0.75-hectare site in Mayfield Road, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph reports.
According to the report, the green homes proposals could see 30 energy-efficient homes - complete with rainwater recycling and renewable electricity capabilities - built at the location.
On Thursday, a council cabinet meeting will present feedback from a public consultation exercise.
The publication concludes the scheme will be funded by a housing growth fund grant of some £1.35 million.
In other eco homes news, edie.net reports the new Angela Carter Close housing development in London shows how green homes can become mainstream.
The eco homes built by the Metropolitan Housing Trust include green features such as insulation and low flush toilets as well as water flow restrictors on taps.
With Energy Efficiency windows and doors as standard, homeowners can now save even more on their heating bills and reduce their carbon footprint. Visit the Safestyle website to see a range of top quality windows and doors to suit your home.
