In eco homes news from the Middle East, A-list actor and architect Brad Pitt is set to design a green hotel and leisure project in Dubai, it has been reported.
The Hollywood star will design the 800-room, five-star hotel with a team from Los Angeles-based architecture firm Graft, according to ArabianBusiness.com.
Pitt is also currently building 150 affordable eco homes in New Orleans for residents of the city's Lower 9th Ward - an area devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
"Whilst acting is my career, architecture is my passion. Selecting this development as my first major construction project has been a simple decision," the Hollywood heartthrob said in a statement.
Mohammed Ali Al-Hashimi, executive chairman of the scheme's developer, Zabeel Investments, told the website the hotel will play host to glamorous events and award ceremonies.
In other news, it was reported by Property Week earlier in the month that student accommodation provider University Partnerships Programme is to design and build a major eco homes project for Leeds Metropolitan University.
