Firefighters in north Wales have rescued a family from a blaze at their home after a fire started in the bathroom, according to local reports.
The father, mother and daughter escaped unharmed at around 07:00 GMT after leaving candles, which they had lit after strong winds cut their electricity, unattended.
Two crews from Conwy and Llandudno contained the fire by using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet, the reports say.
"This family were very lucky to escape from their home alive," Tom Pye, from Llandudno's Red Watch, told News Wales.
"There was no smoke alarm fitted in the property, which would have given an early warning signal to the occupants to ensure that they escaped safely. It is through sheer luck that we are not dealing with another three tragic fire deaths here in north Wales."
He stressed that people must take care when using candles and said families must take steps – such as installing smoke alarms – to ensure they are prepared if a fire does break out.
