Residents of Kirklees have been reminded that they can still avail of free insulation and heating upgrades with help from their local authority.
Councillors sought to reassure people in the borough that "there is no catch" with the Warm Zone energy efficiency scheme, which is intended to lift affected households out of fuel poverty.
Funded by Kirklees council and energy company Scottish Power, the initiative sees individuals and families visited by assessors who decide if they need new or improved loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, free low-energy light bulbs or improved heating systems.
According to the Huddersfield Examiner, many residents still do not believe or realise they may be eligible for the Warm Zone's home improvements.
"People need to believe us - there's no catch with this one," councillor Royston Rogers remarked to the paper.
Campaigners in Southampton also recently called for authorities in their area to boost homeowners' access to double glazed doors and replacement windows.
Double glazing windows and doors can increase the value of your property, as well as saving you money on your heating bills. Take a look at some of the Energy Efficiency-certified windows and doors on the Safestyle website.
