Those living in West Somerset could take advantage of a scheme intended to help people to carry out environmentally-friendly home improvements.
Homeowners wishing to fit improved cavity wall insulation and other work energy-saving devices will be able to apply for financial assistance thanks to the Warm and Well scheme, which is being run by West Somerset Council.
Commenting on the initiative, Ian Timms, the environmental health manager at the council, said: "We would encourage anyone who thinks they may be eligible to come forward to see if they qualify for free loft and cavity wall insulation through [the scheme].
He also added that residents could "save money on energy bills, stay warm and well in their homes and help the environment by cutting down on energy use".
The move could also be welcomed by those who rent property, as the grants are available to both tenants and landlords, as well as to private homeowners.
West Somerset Council is providing the Warm and Well scheme in association with Bristol and Somerset Energy Efficiency Advice Centre.
Earlier this year the council released plans for an eco-friendly affordable homes development.
Speaking at the time, councillor Mary Crowley, portfolio holder for housing health and welfare, said that if it went ahead the development would be a "groundbreaking project".
People looking to make their home more energy-efficient can do so with the addition of double glazing.
