One developer across the pond has pledged to pay the estimated heating costs for buyers of its green homes.
Westchester Modular House announced yesterday (July 1st) 'your heat is on us' in a new initiative designed to educate homebuyers about energy-efficient modular construction.
Those who purchase its custom-designed green homes can save the estimated cost of heating their home for the first year.
John Colucci, vice president of sales and marketing for the firm, said the developer would do its part to combat the rising cost of heating a home.
'In addition to manufacturing energy-efficient 'green' homes, we are paying homeowners' estimated heating fuel costs for a full year. This is our way of helping people realize the American dream,' he added.
The scheme will apply to homes bought between August 30th and November 30th.
It was reported in the Independent last week that home improvements including the installation of insulation and double glazing windows can help cut heating bills by half.
