Going green with double glazed windows can keep you out of the red, it has been reported.

Developer Galliford Try is adopting a slightly different method of tackling sustainability as it approaches the subject of eco homes on a site-by-site basis, according to the Contract Journal.

James Owen, the firm's director, told the publication: "You aren't staying in the game if you don't get into sustainability."

The government's timetable for zero carbon emissions is "taxing" and those that do not put the effort in to achieve maximum green homes will not be around for long, he added.

According to the report, with the clever use of double glazing NG Bailey's Strathclyde headquarters will not use a boiler or air conditioning and temperature will be controlled by a ground source heat pump.

It was reported in the Independent this week that double glazing can reduce heat loss as well as energy costs by half.

With Energy Efficiency windows supplied as standard, homeowners can now save even more on their heating bills and reduce their carbon footprint. Visit the Safestyle website to see a range of top quality double glazed windows to suit your home.
