Property developers and property owners are trying to improve the environmental performace of their portfolios by using energy efficient materials like uPVC windows and cavity wall insulation.

According to the UK Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change, the building industry contributes to 40 percent of Britain’s overall carbon emissions. That is why property owners and property developers are using energy efficient insulation materials in an effort to reduce their properties’ carbon footprint.

However, despite the focus being on devloping buildings with green credentials, only 2 percent of Britain’s building stock is less than five years old. That is why there is a need to make older buildings more energy efficient.

Old buildings can be made energy efficient through careful management and the use of energy efficient material such as cavity wall insulation and uPVC windows to carry out repairs. This type of building material contributes to improving the building’s overall insulation by keeping the heat inside the building.

Such measures will not only increase the building’s market value, they will also drastically reduce running costs because energy efficient materials contribute to keeping the heat inside the building.

This type of measure will therefore improve the building’s marketability. State of the art energy efficient building materials like uPVC windows and cavity wall insulation contribute to improving the building’s overall insulation, thus reducing its carbon footprint.

Furthermore, eco-friendly building materials like uPVC windows will make a home more attractive as they are available in many different designs in order to fit in with as many properties as possible.

Property developers and property owners are therefore keen to make their properties more energy efficient, because not only will they benefit from lower energy bills, but materials like uPVC windows will make the properties more attractive.
