A high street bank is having a ‘green sale’ this winter, giving additional proceeds to environmental charities.
According to HSBC, they were the first to offer a ‘bank sale’ in 2005 and this year have gone one step further, contributing £2 to charity for every sale product purchased.
Good causes include the Climate Group, Botanic Gardens Conservation International, Earthwatch Institute and ENCAMS, which runs the Keep Britain Tidy campaign.
“HSBC has a long standing commitment to the environment, and we continue to explore new ways of providing support,” said Mike Oliver, manager of the HSBC Green Sale.
“The 2007 January sale will help some very important environmental charities, but we will also use this opportunity to raise awareness of environmental issues among our staff and customers.”
Awareness of environmental issues and products that can help individuals to make a difference to their green credentials have grown quickly in 2007.
