Reading residents are concerned about the impact that Heathrow's terminal five will bring to their daily lives, it has been reported.

And now they have an extra reason to worry as they wait to hear if the government will approve plans to build a third runway, according to the Reading Evening Post.

"Living in Reading we've all got fairly used to the noise of take-offs and landings," the report claimed.

But residents may be able to cut some of the disruption out of their lives by making home improvements to their properties such as insulation through double glazing windows.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Times suggested earlier this year that the Queen could qualify for a double glazing grant in order to combat noise pollution caused by aircraft flying over her home.

According to the newspaper, the residents of Windsor Castle will face an "island of noise" if government plans go ahead for runway expansion at Heathrow.
