An Irish government minister has launched green grants to help people making eco home improvements, it has been reported.
Energy minister Eamon Ryan announced that the green grants would be available to homeowners who make their houses more eco-friendly, according to the Press Association.
Applicants can get up to 2,750 (£2,170) towards home improvements from the 5 million scheme that is initially available to homeowners in north Tipperary, Limerick, Clare and Dundalk before it is eventually unveiled across the state.
Mr Ryan vowed: "Householders will save on their electricity and heating bills, they will use their energy more wisely and increase the re-sale value on their homes."
The Irish authorities join the growing number of local authorities in the UK offering incentives to householders to make home improvements in order to increase the number of green homes in the country.
With Energy Efficiency windows and doors as standard, homeowners can now save even more on their heating bills and reduce their carbon footprint. Visit the Safestyle website to see a range of top quality windows and doors to suit your home.
