Builders in Manchester are celebrating a milestone in a multi-million pound home improvements project they are carrying out.
The West Wythenshawe programme has just seen its 2,000th home refurbished and upgraded by Bramall Construction, working on behalf of community landlord Parkway Green Housing Trust.
With plans in place for 2,593 houses in the Wythenshawe area, the home improvements scheme is intended to bring the properties up to the government's Decent Home standard.
Paul Hughes, the area director for the construction company, told 24dash.com that replacement windows and doors and roof repairs form the basis of the project.
One tenant, Wayne Threfall, told the news provider: "We are thrilled with the quality of the repair work which Bramall Construction carried out to our home in a professional and caring manner.
"[It] has really added to our quality of life and transformed our place into a new home."
This week also saw officials in Sussex give the go-ahead for replacement upvc windows to be installed at a property in Meads.
Following original concerns that the window-based home improvements would have a negative impact on the appearance of the conservation area, the objections were dismissed by planners.
Double glazing windows and doors can increase the value of your property, as well as saving you money on your heating bills. Take a look at some of the Energy Efficiency-certified windows and doors on the Safestyle website.
