Around 16 million homeowners and private tenants are expected to benefit from insulation and energy efficiency grants by the end of May, it has been claimed.
The Green Building Press reports that the Heat Project's direct mail campaign is aimed at increasing the number of people who avail of green funding, following a cash injection by utility companies under the government-led Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (Cert).
According to the publication, "the scheme aims to capitalise on a growing green conscience among consumers as a result of greater media coverage and awareness of the environment and global warming issues".
Having begun in September last year, the Heat Project's autumn-spring campaign has sought to highlight the energy-saving qualities of adequate insulation - a pertinent consideration as officials seek to bring down the country's carbon footprint.
Eco-experts suggest that airtight insulation can cut annual heating bills by around £200 every year, while it can reduce the average household's carbon emissions by almost two tonnes.
Double glazing is proven to save heat and energy lost through poorly-insulated windows and doors. With Energy Efficiency windows and doors as standard, homeowners can now save even more on their heating bills and reduce their carbon footprint.
