Discounted wall insulation and new central heating systems are among the home improvements being offered to residents of Brent.
Local authorities in the London borough are seeking to boost the number of green homes in the area by facilitating the home improvements.
They intend to work alongside a charity and non-for-profit company in order to help residents bring down fuel bills and maximise energy efficiency.
London Warm Zone and Energy Solutions will provide their assistance in work towards installing new insulation, double glazing windows and doors, visiting individual houses to offer advice.
Martin Cheeseman, Brent council's director of housing and community care, noted that as energy prices look set to keep rising, all residents should take advantage of the "great offer".
"This is a great opportunity for people to make home improvements - cavity wall insulation is one of the most energy-efficient home improvements you can make and can cut fuel bills by up to 30 per cent," he remarked.
Under the scheme, private tenants and homeowners could receive up to 75 per cent off the cost of installing insulation, while benefit recipients or those over the age of 70 could have heating or insulation work carried out for free.
With Energy Efficiency windows supplied as standard, home owners can now save even more on their heating bills and reduce their carbon footpint. Visit the Safestyle website to see a range of top quality double glazed replacement windows to suit your home.
