Homeowners in London looking to boost the value of their property have been boosted by the news that rents the capital are being fuelled by an interest in home improvements.
The quarterly survey from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics), published earlier this week, has revealed that refurbished properties are enjoying higher rents in some of the more affluent areas of the capital.
Chartered surveyors in Richmond also noted that agreements with tenants were in place before work was even completed.
"Properties that have new kitchens/bathrooms or have been refurbished are seeing significant increases in rent," advised Andrew Jourdain of Chancellors in Richmond.
"Lets [are often] agreed prior to the works being finished," he added.
A recent survey by AA Home Insurance found that £90 billion worth of 'dead space' in UK homes had been converted by householders looking to increase the value of their properties.
