A man who won the jackpot on the National Lottery has revealed the three key purchases he has made since claiming the windfall ten years ago – with one being double glazing for his home.
David Ashcroft, 40, has made only three major investments since scooping £12.3 million. He has bought a new Ford Transit van, a caravan for holidays in North Wales with his parents and double glazing to improve the home he shares with them in Liverpool.
Despite winning what was the fourth-largest lottery prize in the UK at the time, Mr Ashcroft claimed that it wouldn't change him and still works in his business as a furniture restorer.
It's not only lottery winners who enjoy making improvements to their homes – a recent study by moneysupermarket.com revealed that 47 per cent of Britons are planning to make upgrades to their property.
Investing in double glazing is one measure that can help make a home more attractive to buyers as well as reducing heating bills.
