Plans for a new green homes site in Blackpool have been submitted to the council for planning permission, it has been reported.
Kensington Developments has unveiled the £150-million scheme which could build 640 eco homes in the city if given the go-ahead by the local authority, according to the Blackpool Citizen.
If approved, 125 green homes could be built on the Marton site every year up to 2014, with work set to begin in 2009.
Council leader Peter Callow told the publication: "Government policy states we have to build more homes in the area, which is a problem because we don't have much land we can use for new builds in the town."
Kensington are a local company who build quality eco homes and the council looks forward to seeing the exciting plans, he added.
