Not even gigs on the doorstep by the likes of the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club or Kasabian can be heard due to our double glazing windows, the head of one London gallery has said.
Following recent research by Russian scientists claiming concerts in gallery grounds are damaging works of art, the Courtauld Gallery has claimed it cannot even hear gigs at nearby Somerset House, reports the Independent.
A study by Moscow's Graber Art Restoration Institute show that every ten shows above 82 decibels will add one year of extra ageing to a piece of art.
However, Ernst Vegelin, head of the Courtauld Gallery in London, said: "We have double glazing here and sound doesn't register in the buildings."
"But it will certainly be interesting to see the research. Vibration isn't good," he added.
