A Bradford woman installed double glazing at her home to combat the noise pollution caused by a visiting fairground, it has been reported.
Kathleen Payton, of North Road, Wibsey, claims she has to endure the "distraction" the fairground brings to the site at the foot of her garden on an annual basis, according to the Bradford Telegraph and Argus.
The 54-year-old told the publication that vibrations from the fair's rides caused a wall at her home to crack while the whole of her property is shrouded in shadows during the two-week period it is in town.
She added: "There's a crack in my bedroom wall and my windows used to shake before I forked out on double glazing."
W Marshall's Amusements, the fair's operator, said it has done everything it can to limit the noise pollution and has screened her property with lorries to act as a sound barrier.
Meanwhile, last week thousands of Londoners marched in protest against the climate change and increasing noise pollution they say could be caused by further expansion at Heathrow airport.
