Parish installs double glazingReplacement windows have formed part of a home improvement project at a West Midlands parish, it has been reported.

The first phase of improvements has been completed at Bosbury Parish Hall, in Ledbury.

Work completed includes the installation of all external doors using double glazing, wheelchair access at the front of the building and a new roof, according to the Ledbury Reporter.

A new toilet was fitted and the front window has been replaced by new doors that lead to the garden.

The work was supported by a number of grants including £80,000 from the Rural Enterprise Scheme, a £51,020 Biffaward and £10,000 from the Severn Waste Environmental Fund.

Nat Hone, chairman of the parish development committee, said: "The hall is being transformed into a community resource of which we can all be proud.

"There is more to do on the interior and the committee is working hard to continue the good work."

Meanwhile, the World Wildlife Fund called on the government and businesses to play their part and help avoid devastating impacts on the environment this month.

The charity suggested that as well as upgrading to double glazing, people should reduce the number of car journeys they make and use public transport.
