The editor of Build It Magazine, Anna-Marie DeSouza strongly believes that Britain’s home improvement market is set to have a “promising year” ahead with the sector currently experiencing a revival, and also that she is “not at all surprised” at recent statistics showing how popular DIY is becoming.
The statistics say that over 18 million people are hoping to embark on a home improvement project in the next 12 months, with an average budget of around £2831 by a typical homeowner on their property. Industry experts believe that this trend has been influenced by the marked increase in the number of television programmes offering DIY advice to those looking to make improvements to their home. These statistics prove that homeowners are looking to upgrade their residences themselves rather than hiring professionals to do the work for them, the expert went on to say.
Ms DeSouza went on to add that DIY home improvements such as mending or replacing something are becoming a very trendy pastime for homeowners.
