A new apartment development in Redcar features energy-saving double glazing intended to boost the homes' value and security, it has emerged.

Developers told Newcastle's Journal publication that the apartments are aimed at first-time buyers keen to get on the ladder while also maintaining their green credentials.

As well as double glazing, each home has slimline electric heaters, an audio entry system and a fitted kitchen.

In a recent poll of estate agents carried out by the newspaper, it was revealed that double glazing, replacement windows and other such features "top the poll" in terms of new and renovated properties' saleability.
