Replacement windows and doors are some of the home improvements being carried out as part of a million-pound 'facelift' at a development in Northumberland.
The £6 million renovation of Newbiggin's Moor Estate is intended to improve living conditions for hundreds of people, provide more affordable housing and enhance the environment, according to local paper the News Post Leader.
While developer Cheviot Homes will build 28 new homes, housing firm Wansbeck Homes has already embarked on the home improvements programme for existing properties.
Gemma Robson, Wansbeck's area coordinator, told the publication: "We have worked closely with residents on the Moor to develop a plan for its regeneration.
"It is wonderful to see the hard work of local people being translated into improvements on the ground."
Pointing out that the home improvements will include heating upgrades, insulation and new kitchens and bathrooms as well as replacement windows and doors, she concluded: "There is a real feeling of optimism on the estate now and the future is looking really good."
As well as boosting a home's security, new doors and windows are recognised by property experts as a significant "draw" for potential buyers.
With Energy Efficiency products supplied as standard, homeowners can now save even more on their heating bills and reduce their carbon footprint. Visit the Safestyle website to see a range of top quality double glazed doors to suit your home.
