Residents protesting against airport expansion played a "blaring aeroplane noise" through Ruth Kelly's letterbox to highlight the nuisance of noise pollution, it has been reported.
Protesters from the Plane Stupid group congregated at the Transport Secretary's London Docklands address and played the 56 decibel noise, according to the Wimbledon Guardian.
The demonstrators were chased away after 15 minutes by Mrs Kelly's husband, while another group of activists targeted the cabinet member's Bolton constituency home.
Elizabeth Baines, a spokeswoman for the group, told the publication: "It's incredible. Tucked away in her [posh] London flat I can see now why it is so easy for Ruth to ignore the concerns of West London the expansion of Heathrow won't threaten her quality of life."
London does not want any more noise pollution, a decision in favour of the expansion would be reckless and cowardly, she added.
A spokesman for the Department of Transport told the newspaper they would not comment on the protest.
In other noise pollution news, it was reported by the Dunfermline Press that a group of residents are opposing a new Tesco store over fears of noise pollution.
