Professionals involved in the planning, designing and constructing of eco home are being invited to attend Wales' first Green Home Show, being held at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells from March 7th - 9th.

The event has been funded and organised by the Welsh Assembly Government and aims to raise awareness among industry professionals about the best ways of building sustainable homes.

Gordon Brown has made energy efficiency a core part of Labour's political strategy - responding to ever-growing concerns among the general public about the impact that greenhouse gas emissions have on the environment.

And with the government promising to build three million new homes by 2020 - while also committing to make all new homes zero carbon by 2016 - the construction industry faces increasing scrutiny over the energy efficiency of new developments.

Seminars to be held at the Green Home Show will cover all major aspects of green building such as renewable energy supplies, heavy-duty insulation and low-carbon construction techniques.

A recent survey by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development found that the majority of construction professionals are misinformed about the costs and benefits of energy efficient builds.
