Yorkshire residents have united in opposition to a proposed waste processing plant due to noise pollution fears, it has been reported.
The action group - called Communities Against Pollution - turned out waving placards last week as North Yorkshire county councillors visited the Boroughbridge site, according to the Ripon Gazette.
Hundreds of protesters chanted their opposition to the plant proposed by AV Ogden Holdings, which they believe will cause traffic problems and noise pollution.
Gill Ward, a spokeswoman for the group, told the publication she was very pleased that as many as 320 people turned out to let the authorities hear their opposition to the plans.
"Feelings are running very high because of the damage it would do to the town," she added.
The group plans to attend when the county hall makes its decision in Northallerton on July 15th.
It was reported by the Wrexham Leader last week that local residents are opposing a concrete plant over fears of noise pollution it could create.
