We have a wide range of uPVC windows designed to keep your home safe, secure and warm. At Safestyle we put you in control; you can choose from different styles, colours and designs to make sure that your windows are the perfect fit for your home. Rather than relying on an external manufacturer we make all of our windows, precision built in our own state of the art factory. We use rigorous testing to make sure that every window is engineered to the highest quality and standard, so your windows not only look great but provide outstanding performance for many years to come.
Our windows are specifically designed with extra security features to make it extremely difficult for intruders to get in. They are also A rated for their energy efficiency and come recommended by the Energy Savings Trust so you can rest that you're in safe and reliable hands with a Safestyle window.
What is uPVC?
uPVC or PVCu stands for unplasticised polyvinyl chloride but is also known as rigid PVC due to the fact that it is hard and not flexible. uPVC is proven to offer excellent performance and durability, it is long lasting and requires very little maintenance making it the perfect material for your windows. It is also recognised for its thermal efficiency, sound insulation and great value for money. uPVC window frames have a galvanised steel core, which is what gives the material it's incredible strength and durability. With Safestyle you can rest assured that even in the harshest weather conditions your windows will not warp, rot or rust due to the quality and nature of the uPVC we manufacture.
All of our uPVC windows come with cutting edge EcoDiamond™ technology as standard; EcoDiamond™ is the specially manufactured type of glass that we use in our windows and it is exclusive to Safestyle. The glass is specifically designed to provide the highest standard of heat retention and performance, using advanced glass technology that ensures as much heat as possible is kept inside your home. On a cold day the inner pane of glass will reflect the heat from your central heating system back into your home so that it is not lost through the window, greatly reducing the amount of heat that is lost. On a sunny day the outer pane of glass is designed to attract and capture the sun's rays, bringing free heat into your home.
What is double glazing made from?
When we manufacture our A-rated Eco Diamond windows, the sealed glass unit is made by first bringing together the two panes of state of the art Pilkington glass (Pilkington Optifloat™ and Pilkington K glass™). They are clasped and sealed together precisely, the air is removed and replaced with Argon gas to provide superior insulation. The panes are encased in heavy duty frame made from uPVC grade 1 virgin polymer, to ensure discolouration or rotting does not occur. Our multi-chambered technology provides a strong and durable frame and can be further reinforced with steel where necessary. The finished unit is made to measure and fit the hole in your wall perfectly, it is fixed securely and sealed in by the fitters to ensure an airtight fit.
What is the minimum gap between window panes for double glazing?
The standard gap you will get between the two panes of glass in a Safestyle double glazed uPVC window unit is 16mm. This gap has been scientifically proven to provide the optimum level of heat efficiency for the specially injected pocket of Argon gas that sits between the two panes. Argon is a naturally occurring, inert, gas that makes up part of the Earth’s atmosphere but it is the unique heat resistant properties that make it perfect to be used for double glazing. The gas is very dry and non-reactive meaning the speed at which heat travels through it is far slower than in standard air. Argon will sit in the gap until the seal around window unit begins to fail.
Do Safestyle offer supply only windows?
We passionately believe that every customer should experience our full service which includes high quality manufacturing, expert fitting and our award winning customer service. To become the market leader we have invested heavily in our products and spent over twenty years ensuring that our windows are well known for their long lasting quality. We do not offer a supply only window service as we believe that as a FENSA registered company it is essential to maintain the highest possible levels of quality control which means seeing the installation through from beginning to end. We also wouldn't be able to offer our ten year guarantee on windows that have not been installed by us which we do not think is fair to our customers.
